The Women in Philanthropy Impact Excellence (WIPIE) Awards is a flagship initiative of Women in Philanthropy Ghana established to recognise, celebrate, and amplify the outstanding contributions of women philanthropists, social entrepreneurs, community leaders, and institutions transforming lives across Ghana and beyond.
The Awards seeks to shine a national spotlight on women whose generosity, leadership, innovation, and commitment to social impact are driving sustainable development and community transformation. It also aims to inspire a new generation of women and young people to embrace philanthropy, volunteerism, giving, and social responsibility as powerful tools for nation-building.
The WIPIE Awards is more than an awards ceremony. It is a year-round movement dedicated to building the visibility, capacity, and influence of women-led philanthropy in Ghana and across Africa. Through strategic partnerships, mentorship, storytelling, media engagement, and capacity-building programmes, the initiative seeks to strengthen the ecosystem for inclusive giving and impact.
As part of the initiative, the Awards will also support:
- Leadership and mentorship programmes for women and young changemakers
- Community impact projects led by women
- Capacity-building for social entrepreneurs and philanthropists
- National conversations on philanthropy, social investment, and inclusive development
- Recognition and documentation of inspiring stories of giving and community transformation

Official Launch
The official launch of the Women in Philanthropy Impact Excellence (WIPIE) Awards is scheduled for 31st October 2026. The launch event will convene philanthropists, corporate leaders, development organisations, media partners, policymakers, faith-based institutions, women leaders, and community changemakers to unveil a bold national movement dedicated to celebrating women who are transforming lives through giving and social impact.
The launch will also introduce the vision for the annual Awards scheme, strategic partnerships, mentorship opportunities, and the broader ecosystem-building initiatives being championed by Women in Philanthropy Ghana.
The initiative forms part of the broader mission of Women in Philanthropy Ghana to connect, empower, and amplify women in philanthropy while strengthening collaboration within Ghana’s growing philanthropy ecosystem.
